£2400 raised in NWP charity efforts

On Sunday, 27th May, our Buyer, Stan Blackburn, and his wife Cath, walked the Wirral Coastal Walk, an annual event where many of the participants raise money for charities or good causes. They aim to help their four- year-old goddaughter, who suffers from cystic fibrosis, a hereditary, life threatening lung disease albeit with improving treatments and life expectancies in the UK. They raised £1,970, including £255 from NWP employees. For more information about the Wirral Coastal Walk, please visit www.wirralcoastalwalk.org; cystic fibrosis information is available on the Cystic Fibrosis Trust website.

A week before leaving the company, Peter Short took part in a parachute jump at Skydive Tilstock, Whitchurch, in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society; his mother suffers from the disease. Parachute jumping was a now fulfilled ambition of Peter’s, and he wanted to combine it with helping out others; he raised £442 in total, including £242 from our personnel. We would like to congratulate them all, as well as everyone at NWP who donated.
